The Holy Grail of Bra Shopping

A couple of posts ago (The Perfect Fit: From Frumpy to Fabulous), I told you how incredibly important it is to get into a store that knows what they are doing and measure you properly. My favorite store to get fitted: Nordstrom. If you have done that, you may have been shell-shocked by their size findings (because they tell you the truth!) and the prices. Please don't be too terrified of either. Think of your terrible VS bra that is just so cute, but is totally riding up in the back and your breasts are running over the cups... that was a waste of money! A great bra is an investment in your overall look and confidence.

I'm always on the look out for a good deal. The lingerie deals that I live by are all at my fingertips at http://www.figleaves.com/. They have frequent sales and email alerts with promo codes. In addition to great deals, they have EVERY size--- small bands with large cups, small cups with large bands, large bands with large cups, small bands with small cups-- you get the picture! Figleaves has different style bras-- strapless, sports, demi, balconette, full figure, unlined, moulded, nursing, even swimsuits! This website has been a godsend for me.

Figleaves is based in the UK, with many brands from there. My favorites are Fantasie, Freya, and Panache. (I've always been curious about that-- how come all of the wonderful brands made for women with a small band and large cup size are made in Europe?) Shipping is less than $6 even though they send it from the UK, returns and exchanges are free, although you have to pay for the post to be mailed back. Returns are sent back to a warehouse in New York, so you don't even have to pay the International post. I can go on and on about this site and how much I adore it! Most of the bras that I will feature on this will come from their website. You can always check out my reviews under specific bras there, as I am a Top 100 Reviewer under the name Mayamuse. (See! I told you I was crazy about figleaves and am on there ALL of the time!).

I have now passed on the gift to you.

Life is Good.

I have so many ideas for this blog, yet today this is what I'm thinking about-- The reactions that I've had from people about this blog.

My brother said "hahaha. Now I'm going to write a blog about my enormous junk!" Then he paused and said "Actually, it's a really good blog." Most of the reactions have been good. I've had a few girlfriends tell me that they're going to get properly fitted at someplace other than Victoria's Secret, so I was happy with that.

The comment that has stuck in mind came from a local comedian friend of mine, a male. He said "what could any girl possibly have to say about that? That life does not suck for me?! I get everything I want because of my enormous breasts?!" I laughed. He laughed. And then I thought, you know in a lot of ways, he's right. He will never understand the problems with large breasts, growing up with them, shopping for them, etc. All he sees are breasts, which is good. Hey, he's right. They are good.

Free drinks, backstage passes, tickets-- that is the good life. Superficial good life, but good, nonetheless.

A friend of mine in college had been with an asshole of a guy for two years, and she finally had the courage to kick him out and end it. We decided to go out to celebrate her first night as a single lady. She had no idea what to wear, and I said "something low." She did and she got attention that she hadn't had in years. Men flirted with her and bought her drinks. It was the night that her entire confidence boosted, and she became a new woman. Yeah, breasts can do that do. Life really is good.
